LAST ONE’S THIS SUNDAY, Aug. 26: Last of this summer’s Stony Brook Village Green Sunday Night Outdoor Concerts, the popular series sponsored by a founding Chamber member, the Ward Melville Heritage Organization, Ed Ryan and Tom San Filippo, “The Best of the Beatles,” 7 p.m. Free. WHAT’S NEXT? We’re setting up, with Stony Brook University Athletics, two football nights in September and it looks like three or four other events are coming up during September: the regular Chamber general membership meeting on Sept. 19, a luncheon with a program about social media; another of Chamber President Michael Ardolino’s popular “Chamber Coffee Breaks”; a “Member to Member Roundtable” on Elder Law; and maybe a hands on seminar on social media tied to the Sept. 19 meeting.

THE OTHER EAGLE: You know about the Eagle at the Stony Brook Village Post Office BUT have you seen the other Eagle, at the old Setauket Post Office on Main Street in Setauket. The Eagle’s been restored. It will be unveiled at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31 in a ceremony at the Post Office, you’re invited, sponsored by the Frank Melville Jr Memorial Fund. WHITE-A-THON TIME:  Dr. Ira Koeppel and staff are hosting another White-a-thon to benefit the Stony Brook Long Island Children’s Hospital with 100% of proceeds going directly to the building of this much needed facility. All donations collected will be matched by a very generous, anonymous benefactor. Now through March 28, appointments will be made to take impressions for custom bleaching trays. Patients return shortly thereafter to pick up their trays and begin whitening their teeth at home. The donation to this worthy cause is $150.
